Age-Related Changes in Male Fibroblasts Increase Treatment-Resistant Melanoma

Researchers from the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center have found age-related changes in skin cells contribute to the development of aggressive, treatment-resistant melanoma in male mice. The study has significant implications for cancer research. Currently, most preclinical cancer studies use young mice. However, this study shows that studying cancer in older mice and aging human cells is essential.
